She is not the least bit shy, or unsure about herself, not unwilling to come up and give you a piece of her mind if the moment calls for it. To make her mad is to meet her fury, Shay will engage in a fight to settle disputes or to defend herself. Though her hard exterior says otherwise, this female is a jokester and friendly individual. It is difficult to get to know her, even then you will hardly know anything about her. As outgoing as Shay is she is secretive, master at beating around the bush and skilled at hiding her identity. Background: Shay was originally born in captitivity, a zoo in the town of Precedent Rue 319. PR319 was the second town built in the 1940's to aid in the creation of the Atomic Bomb part of the Manhattan Project. The Manhattan Project was a research and development program that produced the first atomic bomb during World War II. The project was under the direction of Major General Leslie Groves of the US Army Corps of Engineers. The general was given unlimited funds to make the atomic bomb possible, and thus created a small town called: 'Happy Valley'. In this town about 75,000 people were drawn here to work for the government using various forms of false advertising to do so. Unlike Happy Valley, Precedent Rue 319 did not succeed in its mission to create the atomic bomb. Instead the town was almost destroyed by the bomb's reactor core malfunctioning and detionating during its first days of operation. In the wreckage of the town the zoo's habitats were far enough away that a minority of survived the blast. The animals hung around long enough that they were exposed to the radation and began to feel its affects. Shortly after leaving PR319, Shay's mother, Isabella, had given birth days before her death to Shay and a still born brother, but radiation poisoning was too much and she died soon after. Due to being blamed for the death of her mother at birth Shay has struggled throughout her life to become the son her father has always wanted. Trading in her femininity Shay allowed her father to mold her into a fine, young lad. Because of that Shay acts like a male the majority of the time and well pretty much the majority of her life. Parker Thompson has started to become real to her, in a literal sense, she is forgetting who Shay actually is. This has yet to become a problem, but being an eligible bachelor is taking its toll. Extra: The radiation caused the zoo animal's metabolism to slow down to that of a tortoise, expanding their life span. Shay was unborn at the time of the explosion so she was hit hard with the massive amounts of radiation as a fetus. This caused parts of her skin to be free of hair and develop a glowing quality to it. It also caused her pelt to grow in thicker and the beginning of a mane is starting to grow. The hair fibers are loose causing it to appear to be moving when light is hitting it. I need to do a little bit more research on Radation. Although we do not know all the effects it has on a living organism I can only imagine that it would be capible of messing with hormone levels causing hair growth and the glowing skin. Was it those damned squirrels again?" _____ Species: Felidae Subspecies: African Personality: With a first impression Miranda seems to be an ignorant girl, which all in all she is, although at certain times she does comes out of her mind and take on the role of a leader. She is well-mannered, calm, and has a optimistic outlook on life, trying to find the positives in a sea of negatives. She is quiet, socially awkward in all situations, at times verbally abusive but never physical. Background: (See Parker/Shay's Background for Manhattan Project information.||) A resident of the Precedent Rue 319 zoo until the destruction of the town, Miranda only suffered minor physical symptoms caused by the radiation. But has found herself sterile, and is being to find herself looking for young animals to take care of. Extra: Suffers from Asperger's Syndrome and is schizophrenic, but a mild case of each only affecting certain actions and thought processes. Her pelt is very sensitive to light, the more sunlight it is exposed to the lighter it gets while lack of sunlight turns her pelt a dark brown, and hair a bloody red. *cough* Yes. Hello there. I know that it is impossible for animals to be schizophrenic, being they lack the part of the brain that is necessary for this disorder. But I am utterly fascinated by this, so might as well, am I right? With that being said, lets... Just keep it under our hats, eh?
